About Me

I am a member of the Society of Authors, the National Association of Writers in Education and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.  I am passionate about all forms of storytelling – theatre, film, and television, as well as a variety of books, fiction and non-fiction, poetry and prose - and have been an avid reader and keen writer for as long as I can remember. The genres that I most enjoy reading are fantasy, crime, thrillers or mysteries, children’s literature, autobiography and poetry, although, to be honest, I’ll read almost anything as long as it catches my interest and keeps it!

Indulging my theatrical streak, in 2007 I also founded a small theatre company, Shadow Road Productions.  Our first production - a double bill of two one-act comedies - was staged at the end of June and in December we put on a two-night Christmas show to raise some money for the next one!

Other interests of mine include politics (I like to keep up to date with what’s going on in the world and why, but I don’t support any particular political party at the moment), cricket and tennis (I’m usually to be found firmly glued to the television during the Wimbledon fortnight).  I'm also hoping, after something of a lapse, to renew my interest in and experience of reiki.  I took my First Degree (Shoden) a few years ago and am now hoping to get back into it again and finally take my Second Degree (Okuden).


QUICK FIRE FACTS

I like... loyalty, honesty, chocolate, fireworks, dogs (though sadly I'm allergic to them) and Christmas.

I don't like... dishonesty, disloyalty, mushrooms, stilton cheese (phew!), spiders and spiteful people.

I have no... sense of balance - that's why it took me ages to learn to ride a bike!
